I didn't start out knowing what I know now. Like a lot of teachers, I spent years searching for materials that actually worked — that were grounded in research, easy to implement, and worthy of my students' time. Sometimes I found them. A lot of times, I made them myself.

After more than twenty years in public education and a move to the independent school world, one thing hasn't changed: intentional teaching requires intentional tools.

MY APPROACH I specialize in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy — the research-backed framework for how students actually learn to read. Every resource I create is built on that foundation. That means explicit, systematic, and cumulative instruction. No fluff. No filler. Just materials designed to move students forward.

But strong literacy instruction doesn't happen in chaos. I'm equally passionate about classroom management and the calm, structured environment that makes real learning possible. When students know what to expect, feel safe, and understand the rhythms of their day, everything works better — the lessons land, the routines hold, and teachers can actually teach.

I believe a calm classroom isn't a luxury. It's the foundation.
